Empire Pipeline Sets Throughput Record.

Temperatures dipping into the negatives during the week of January 12th may have put a chill in the air, but these weather conditions helped heat things up for Empire Pipeline. On January 15th, Empire Pipeline recorded its highest ever daily delivery of gas to its customers, a total of 708,530 dth.

Empire's total winter transmission capacity is approximately 775,000dth/day; this includes the Empire Connector facilities that were put into service on December 10th, 2008 to serve the new Millennium Pipeline. This unprecedented demand underscores the relative attractiveness of natural gas as a low cost fuel, while demonstrating the fact that Empire is well positioned to meet extreme market demands, with reliable transmission facilities that have adequate deliverability and access to supplies required to meet the peak needs of its customers.
